Her-Bak: The Living Face of Ancient Egypt - Theatrical Performance
Creative Residency at Heenat Salma Farm invites our friends and guests to join a theatre performance centred around the Safe Theatre concept. We are presenting stories based on oral tradition, stories that can provoke thought, challenge dogma, and inspire action. These stories, shared through the Safe Theatre, pave the way to beauty through truth and kindness, transforming the individual self.
The tradition of oral storytelling is one of the oldest forms of art. It is a powerful medium for bringing people together. Following the experience of our ancestors, we present an original performance based on the book Her-Bak: The Living Face of Ancient Egypt by Isha Schwaller de Lubicz, who studied the Egyptian symbolism of hieroglyphs, temples, and tombs in the first half of the 20th century.
Heenat Salma Creative Residency
The Creative Residency is dedicated to building a strong economy and infrastructure for craftsmanship, to grow and diversify audiences, and to sustainably produce a high-quality craft practice both nationally and internationally. We work to stimulate sustainable development through the preservation and revitalisation of traditional craftsmanship, knowledge, and techniques. We have an artist in residency programme that welcomes self-motivated, focused individuals working in traditional and applied Arts and Crafts. The themes will be dedicated to traditional architecture and urbanism, regenerative agriculture, textiles, and craftsmanship.
