Description
The mindfulness talk for beginners stresses the importance of awareness in our day-to-day interaction with ourselves, others, and the world. The talk presents a definition of mindfulness/awareness. It also highlights why it is important for us and what the research says about its use. It also briefly shows how we can cultivate these practices.
Mindfulness is the art of bring awareness to what we do. It is about consciously shifting from the automatic, autopilot brain to a conscious one, and an awareness of what we feel, think, and do. It is about choosing to respond in the interactions of our daily lives, rather than reacting.
The course will enhance how we relate to ourselves, others an,d the world. It is about being aware of our common humanity. The ability of seeing others as us in a non-judgemental, open, and transparent way. It helps us to build trust and thus be vulnerable as a strength, rather than weakness.
The goal of the MBSR training course is teaching participants to consciously step out of their default (automatic pilot brain) to become more intentional, conscious, and aware of what they do. The main outcome, hopefully, is that participants will learn that will they still can be distracted, when they do they will notice their wondering/distracted brain and then gracefully be able to steer it back where they want it to be, thus, learning and knowing that a present mind is a happy one and distracted/wondering mind is an unhappy one.

More
The Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction course is great for team building, couples, students, and teachers; do not hesitate to contact us for more information. Lectures can also be offered at the farm itself, homes, or places of work.
Team Building
We can imagine what benefits we can gain when we do so. It helps people in the group to be more collaborative rather than competitive and selfish. This kind of attitude, we hope, will enhance productivity and brings people together as one unit.
Couples
Mindfulness - this is the main ingredient of a successful and happy marriage. By cultivating awareness and presence, we are hoping that couples will be able to improve their ability to listen to each other before reacting. By being more thoughtful, couples will be able to effectively use their executive function brain to “respond” to challenging situations. This delay is reactivity, which creates a space where a rational “wise brain” response is generated rather than an “emotional brain” reaction.
Students
The course will define what is mindfulness/awareness and why it is important. It is closely associated with attention. Without attention, our children and students will not be able to succeed, as attention is vital for learning. As William James, the American philosopher, and psychologist (1890) said:
The faculty of voluntarily bringing back a wandering attention, over and over again, is the very root of judgement, character, and will . . . An education which should improve this faculty would be the education par excellence. But it is easier to define this ideal than to give practical directions for bringing it about.
The course will focus of how students can focus their attention in class and in their studies. It stresses the fact that attention is a skill that can be cultivated.
Teachers
Teachers will gain knowledge of how they can teach their students to pay attention using a variety of tools such as senses, meditation, soft belly breathing, and imagination, to name just a few. Teachers themselves will be able to tolerate their students’ inattentiveness by being more patient, resilient, and mindful.
